Next step on the Forktree Project’s circular economy journey: building the deck of what will be the Forktree Project Sustainability Centre out of wood gathered from the building waste salvaged on site.

A win-win on multiple fronts: building waste kept out of landfill (a shocking 40% of Australia’s landfill is building waste); no new wood felled for this deck surface; and resources given a second life.

Happy days! We are already imagining sundowners on this deck after a day of treeplanting …. or mats laid out for early-morning yoga looking out over the sea as a prelude to the mindfulness of propagating in the nursery…
