Clearly we are all about celebrating and protecting the natural world through restoring habitat, encouraging biodiversity and sequestering carbon.

But we also recognise that there are times modern technology can enhance our efforts and maximise our chances of success.

Latest developments in this space: the installation of wireless temperature and humidity sensors in the Forktree nursery and seed orchard. These connect to our LoRaWAN wifi hub supplied as part of our relationship with SA Water. This means that, via Fleetspace’s satellites and Swan’s software, we get real-time temperature data to help us plan and manage our irrigation, meaning optimum watering of plants (not too much, not too little, but just right - applying the Goldilocks principle to water management) and minimum wastage of water, our most precious resource.
