Thank you!

Last Thursday has to rank as one of our best volunteering days to date, with an amazing effort from a fantastic group of people.

First and foremost, it was a pleasure to welcome back to The Forktree Project the team of the Adelaide office of insurance writers CHU. As a company CHU have been great supporters of The Forktree Project right from the outset, and this was the Adelaide team’s third volunteering day on site. An amazing effort by all on a glorious day - THANK YOU, we are hugely grateful.

A second big thank you to high school Design & Technology teacher Ian, who accompanied the CHU team. Not only did Ian get stuck into the weeding with the team, he also took away with him our stash of unfinished, recycled plastic stakes and sharpened them to perfection in his workshop, so that they are now ready for use when planting begins. An otherwise hugely time-consuming and laborious job achieved seemingly in the blink of an eye - THANK YOU!

Thirdly, thank you to Miles and Lachy who set to with the trusty Nissan Patrol and a 10-tonne 4WD recovery strap and extracted no less than 20 large olives. A truly fantastic effort. THANK YOU again!

Helping comes in many different forms. We are hugely grateful to our rapidly growing family of Forktree Friends for their volunteering efforts. If you would like to learn more about how you can volunteer at The Forktree Project, please contact us via the “Join Us” page or via hello@theforktreeproject.com.

From left to right: the CHU Adelaide team weeding like champions; precision cutting of stakes (made from recycled soft plastics from the wine industry) by D&T mastercraftsman Ian; seriously impressive olive eradication by Miles and Lachy. A huge thank you to them all.
