Planting is almost over for 2020 (only about 50 saplings still go) and we are already starting to think ahead to 2021.

By the end of October we hope to have our seed nursery infrastructure in place, ready to house and nurture saplings for next year. But a few other things need to happen too in order for this to become a reality.

For a start, we need to gather the seed itself. It looks as if the few mature pink gums on the property are only too ready to oblige - it would appear seed harvesting season will soon be upon us!

Everything about The Forktree Project is part of a journey. Harvesting seed from the mature trees on the property in order to grow saplings for next year’s planting undoubtedly seems like a step in the right direction.
