Wrapping up Planting Season 2

Another landmark day today with the final saplings of 2020 being planted. This brings the total number of natives trees and shrubs planted on the property since the beginning of the project to 6,400. Not bad two seasons’ work!

When surveying the final plantings from the top of the hill, one can’t help but notice the contrast between the water on the Forktree Project property and the water in a neighbouring dam frequented by cattle (see photo below). Of course animals need somewhere to drink, but what a dramatic example of how quickly the environment can purify itself if we give it space and time.

The final seedlings of the season are planted around our healthy looking dam - positive signs of recovery.
