THIRSTY WORK

Watering 3,700 saplings is no mean feat, particularly those of them that aren’t planted in neat rows (the majority). To make sure we don’t miss any out, we have implemented a system of red clothes pegs - once a plant has been watered a peg is attache to the corflute. Then when the time comes to water them again (probably in about 4 weeks - these are natives that need a good long soak followed by a period without water during which they stretch their roots out in search of moisture and grow stronger), we will take the pegs off.

Simple. But sometimes the simple solutions are the best solutions.
