sowing seed
Today was a momentous day which saw the propagation process begin for the first of our native seed, some harvested from less than a kilometre away and some harvested at Forktree itself.
Under the expert guidance of Jake Thornhill, our band of planters got to work. Step by step we:
lined trays with geofabric,
filled them with potting mix,
scattered the seed on the surface,
added a layer of gravel and potting mix to protect the seed,
and watered it all in.
And thus our first stock in the seed nursery was established. A first step - and from little things big things will grow.
