Rubble update

3,000 tonnes and two and a half years later, our 350m long x 20m wide x 1m deep on-site rubble pile is almost sorted. Put another way:

  • 25-30,000 bricks and pavers cleaned or awaiting cleaning;

  • 10 skips of ferrous, copper and aluminium recycled;

  • 5 winters’ worth of wood for our log burners removed;

  • 86m3 of retaining walls built using broken bricks and rubble;

  • and 4 raised garden “urbanite” beds made from old concrete.

All that remains is for the the pile Tim is standing on to be crushed as aggregate for 2km of fire and access tracks. All part of the Forktree Project circular economy challenge - something we are hugely proud of.
