20th March is World Rewilding Day!

It seems appropriate to recognise this date with photos taken only a few days ago at The Forktree Project of a forgotten sapling, accidently left unplanted sometime during last year’s planting season and discovered this week.

Amazingly, the sapling has put out a root through the bottom of its forestry tube and has planted itself, thereby determinedly holding on to life.

What an extraordinary example of the resilience and tenacity of nature. If we leave it be, it will thrive.
