national recycling week @ the forktree project #3
We can’t get to the end of National Recycling Week without mentioning bricks…
A big part of the Forktree Project story is the repurposing of the 3000+ tonnes of building waste inherited on site at the beginning of the project in 2019. It has been a 4-year (and counting) labour of love working through the rubble, cleaning and sorting perfectly reusable whole bricks (more later on the multiple uses for the broken bricks and rubble…).
Determined not to contribute to the 40% of Australia’s landfill that is building waste. Repurpose, reuse, repurpose, reuse.
