From rubble to tracks

What a great effort by a band of students and staff from Prince Alfred College this last weekend!

With good cheer and unflagging energy, a huge dent was made in the rubble pile; reusable whole bricks were separated out so that the remaining broken bricks and rubble can be crushed for tracks before winter. A huge thank you to the PAC team for their hard work.

As ever, clearing the rubble is a win-win, making good use of building waste rather than sending it to landfill AND cleaning up the site so that before too long that particular section can be planted. Powerful lessons about the circular economy abound, not to mention teamwork and the buzz of doing good. Experiential, environment-based service learning learning at its best.
