FRIENDS of forktree planting day for national tree day

What an amazing day we had today at our Friends of Forktree Planting Day to mark National Tree Day!

A team of nearly 50 volunteers made light work of planting native trees, shrubs and grasses on hillsides and in gullies, making a huge contribution to our revegetation efforts at The Forktree Project. Thank you to every one of them - their enthusiasm, hard work and good cheer made the day not only a huge success but also immensely enjoyable. It was a perfect example of what can be achieved by pulling together in the interests of a common goal, and also of how enjoyable, rewarding and invigorating shared purposeful action can be.

A huge thank you also goes to Planet Ark, which generously supported our planting day through its Seedling Bank as part of its National Tree Day initiative. We look forward to hearing about other National Tree Day plantings around the country over the course of the next couple of weeks. Every sapling counts!
