creative design - from tanks to beds

Our rare seed orchard continues to take shape. In keeping with our recycling and repurposing principles, we are giving old, damaged rainwater tanks a new life as beds for wetland plant species.

Step 1: cut the tanks in half

Step 2: dig a series of large holes

Step 3: fit the half tanks into the holes

Step 4: landscape around the tanks to support them

Step 4: line the tanks with rubble

Step 5: fill the tank with compost and soil, ready to receive the plants

Step 6: fit the irrigation lines

Step 7: plant the endangered wetland plants

Step 8: admire a great job done.
