Forktree's 40th Lepidoptera species

Many thanks to bird and lepidoptera expert Malcolm Worthing for his latest observations of biodiversity at Forktree:

“While conducting the Margined Browntail Moth caterpillar (Euproctis marginalis) return release, we were given the surprise of this vibrantly coloured Four-spotted Cup Moth caterpillar (Doratifera quadriguttata) on the same branch.

Although a common species, this is the first record of a Four-spotted Cup Moth at Forktree and is a great addition to the 39 lepidoptera species already known to call Forktree home.”

Thank you, Malcolm - every indication of increasing biodiversity at Forktree is a thrill for us!
